Kecacingan pada burung cendrawasih (Paradisaea sp.) di pusat penyelamatan satwa cikananga sukabumi
Abstract
Kecacingan merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan yang dapat terjadi pada burung cendrawasih di Pusat Penyelamatan Satwa Cikananga Sukabumi Jawa Barat. Pemeriksaan tinja rutin menggunakan metode flotasi dan Mc Master dilakukan untuk mengetahui kejadian infeksi cacing pada burung cendrawasih. Hasil pemeriksaan menunjukkan bahwa 5 dari 5 ekor burung cendrawasih positif terinfeksi cacing Cappilaria sp. dan Heterakis sp. Faktor infeksi berkaitan dengan sanitasi lingkungan sehingga pencegahan dapat dilakukan melalui sanitasi kandang dan pemberian batu pada dasar kandang.
