Abstract

Introduction. Eel has huge economic potential. The development and progress of eel fisheries depends on research. The number of studies on eel is quite a lot, but it is not known with certainty. This research was conducted to answer questions about the actual number of eel research in Indonesia, how much is the productivity of eel researchers, and to develop map of eel research.

Research methods. This research is a quantitative descriptive research. The data is taken from the internet using the Publish or Perish application with additional data from IOS, ISJD, and the Garuda Portal.

Data Analysis. The data was analysed using bibliometric analysis with the help of Zotero and Excel applications. Co-author and co-word analysis were carried out using the VOSviewer application.

Results and Discussion. Found as many as 365 publication titles since 1995 involving as many as 832 authors. The degree of collaboration of the authors is 0.9. Most publications were published by “IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science (38 titles)”. The most prolific writer/researcher is Ridwan Affandi (34 titles). The most productive institution is IPB (84 titles). The most researched topic was aquaculture (161 titles), and the least researched was processing, nutrition and health (8 titles).

Conclusion. The number of research on eel is 365 titles with the most topic being aquaculture. Co-author and co-word maps were successfully created using VOSviewer.
